Aeronautical Channel Modeling at Vhf-band
نویسنده
چکیده
| A class of aeronautical wideband channel models is proposed, featuring parking & taxi environments , take-oo & landing situations, and en-route scenarios for air-ground links and air-air links. Typical and worst-case parameter sets are suggested, based on published measurement results. The models are suitable for an implementation of simple channel emulators on digital computers or in hardware, and thus may be useful for the validation of future VHF digital aeronautical links (VDL).

B-vhf – a Multi-carrier Broadband Communications Concept for Air Traffic Management in the Vhf Band
In this paper we describe an European initiative aiming to establish a broadband Very High Frequency (VHF) aeronautical communications system based on a multi-carrier technology and demonstrate its benefits to the aeronautical community, together with its technological fundamentals. The European research project B-VHF (“Broadband VHF Aeronautical Communications System based on Multi-Carrier Tec...
متن کاملDRM+, a perfect complement to DAB/DAB+ in VHF band III
Technical investigations suggest that DRM+ is a suitable candidate for the transition from analogue FM to digital broadcasting in VHF band II (87.5 108.0 MHz) in Europe [2]. Unfortunately, there are mainly three major problems to solve: 1. VHF band II is historically defined for the use of analogue FM sound broadcasting, and, it is – as such – extensively used in Europe; 2. the lack of agreed c...
متن کاملThe SANDRA Communications Concept - Integration of Radios
The Single European Sky Air Traffic Management (ATM) research programme SESAR has identified continued growth in demand for aircraft communications as air traffic increases and communications become more network centric. Alongside existing systems such as VHF Data Link Mode 2, new systems such as the L-band Digital Aeronautical Communication System (LDACS) and the Aeronautical Mobile Airport Co...
متن کاملActs Broadband Aeronautical Experiment
In the last decade, the demand for reliable data, voice, and video satellite communication links between aircraft and ground to improve air traffic control, airline management, and to meet the growing demand for passenger communications has increased significantly. It is expected that in the near future, the spectrum required for aeronautical communication services will grow significantly beyon...
متن کاملPerformance Analysis of DSTBC over VHF Air-to-Ground Communication Channels
This paper is concerned with evaluating the performance of differential space time block coding (DSTBC) over very high frequency (VHF) aeronautical communication channels (i.e. air-to-ground). Differential phase shift key (DPSK) is one of the differential transmission schemes that transmit information without full channel state information (CSI) at the receiver. There are two main problems that...
